Ok, so this has been a lot more difficult than I thou–
Just kidding. This has gone exactly the way I thought it would. It’s day 11 and I don’t even have 10,000 words written. I’m debating whether to start counting work emails.
In the first few days, I’d written most of a short story. A day later, I scrapped the entire thing (almost 5,000 words) and wrote a new story with the same characters and premise. I’m still counting those deleted words. But then, as it is wont to do, life happened and work got in the way. Last night I attended a local writing group thinking it would be a good chance to maybe get a couple thousand words in.
Of course the theme that night was short, pithy letters to yourself in the past, present, or future. A fantastic topic, to be sure, but not exactly the most word producing. My total for the night was 153. 153.
